I have been a licensed physical therapist for over 30 years, specializing in neurological and geriatric rehabilitation. In 2003, I founded The Recovery Project, LLC as a way to bring together my experience and passion for helping others move and recover with greater support. Over the years, I’ve pursued certifications and advanced training in areas such as geriatrics, neurodevelopmental techniques, and myofascial release. My work focuses on supporting individuals with neurological conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. I am deeply committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care that helps each person feel more capable in their body and supported in their recovery.

Jennifer Werner RYT-500

I have been practicing yoga since 2002 when I was introduced to it at the fitness center where I was attending classes. I loved it so much I decided to go through Teacher Training in 2003 and then again in 2005. Both experiences were wonderful as I learned so much more about my own practice and, of course, how to share it with others. Over the years, teaching has become a true passion of mine, and I find deep fulfillment in helping students discover the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of yoga in their own lives.

I took my first yoga class when I was about 20 years old and immediately loved the practice and knew I wanted to know more. Although I was not able to have a regular practice right away, I have maintained one for the last 6 years and was able to take the yoga teacher training in the spring of 2017, which transformed my life. Since then, yoga has become not only a personal practice but also a way to connect, inspire, and support others on their own journeys toward balance and well-being.

My yoga journey began in 2006 while visiting a beautiful resort in Cancun. The hotel offered many amenities, one of which was daily yoga with an amazing instructor, Petra Ver Eecke, originally from Belgium. I gave yoga a try and found myself coming to my mat every morning, craving the peace, clarity, and connection it brought. That experience sparked a lifelong passion, and over the years, my practice has deepened into a source of strength, balance, and personal growth—both on and off the mat.

Jaynel Denomme

When I walked into Plymouth Yoga Room in 2013, I was in search of a good workout and a little stress relief. I found so much more here. Through yoga, I found connection to my body, my mind, and my breath. I grew up playing sports—the more physically demanding and full of contact, the better—so yoga challenged me in a completely new way. Over time, it not only strengthened me physically but also brought a sense of balance, awareness, and inner calm that I hadn’t experienced before.

My journey with yoga began as a desperate search for a physically active outlet. I never really found gyms to be my kind of vibe, and in 2016 I had a friend who recommended yoga (specifically the Plymouth Yoga Room). I took my first class and was instantly hooked. Little did I know, in searching for a way to gain more physical strength, I gained so much more—mental clarity, emotional resilience, and a deep sense of community. Yoga quickly became a meaningful part of my life, both on and off the mat.

A good friend of mine recommended I add yoga into my regular fitness routine of running and strength training back in 2013. Practicing yoga improved my range of motion, strengthened my core, and relieved so much tension in my tight runner’s hamstrings. I was impressed with how it enhanced my fitness level in every way, but even more surprised by the mental clarity and sense of calm it brought into my daily life. Yoga quickly became an essential part of my overall wellness journey, both physically and mentally.

My yoga journey began in 2009, shortly after Plymouth Yoga Room opened. At the time, I was pregnant with my first child and used my practice to calm my ever-busy mind. Two children later, I continued to strengthen my practice, coming one or two days a week, supplementing other physical activities. Over time, yoga became more than just exercise—it became a grounding force in my life, helping me find balance, patience, and a deeper connection to myself amidst the chaos of motherhood and everyday life.

Teresa Gierzynski

I have been practicing yoga for over a decade and recently deepened my practice by completing the PYR Yoga Immersion Program in Fall 2024, earning my RYT 200 certification. Originally drawn to yoga through long-distance running and recurring injuries, I found in it a transformative practice that supports both physical and mental wellbeing. Off the mat, I’m a mom to two young boys and work at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the University of Michigan, where I see the importance of movement, community, and resilience. I’m deeply grateful for the PYR community and find my teaching journey both meaningful and rewarding.

My yoga journey began in 2013, when panic attacks just started to take over my life. I wanted to get stronger—physically and mentally—and, if I’m honest, look better too, so I took a class. After that first session, I was hooked. Almost immediately, I knew I wanted to teach, to share the gifts my teachers had given me: calm, clarity, and a space to escape and reset. Yoga became that place for me, where I could breathe, build strength, and simply feel like myself again. As a wife and mom to two amazing kids, Ian and Grace, I understand how important it is to find balance. I strive to create a welcoming space where students can relax, reconnect with themselves, and leave feeling strong and renewed.

I’ve been practicing yoga for over a decade. I’m an old soul, and I’ve always believed that there’s more to life than what the eyes can see. My affinity for consciousness expansion has led me to study various forms of healing modalities over the years. But it wasn’t until 2021, when I took Teacher Training at Plymouth Yoga Room, that everything truly clicked. Yoga became the vessel that tied all my experiences together—awakening a deeper purpose within me to guide others toward healing, presence, and self-discovery.

I graduated from Wayne State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Dance. After years of taking yoga classes on and off, I began to develop a more consistent practice in 2024, which allowed me to grow both physically and mentally. Through this practice, I’ve found a sense of support in my breath and in the time I spend on the mat. It has helped me feel more grounded, more present, and better equipped to navigate whatever life brings my way. Yoga continues to be a space where I can return to myself, and I’m grateful for what it has brought into my life.

I began my yoga journey in 2008. After years of running, it was time to find a practice that was both physically challenging and nurturing. I had no idea then how much I would also learn about the mental side.
After 20+ years in Seattle, my family and I moved back to Michigan in 2024. Once again I found myself searching for a new path after years in marketing and branding, so I dove into Teacher Training at PYR. And here I am, continuing to learn and share a practice that keeps evolving with me.

I began practicing yoga in 2011, the same year I started student teaching. I had recently ended my relationship with long-distance running and needed something that would still provide me with physical activity and mental clarity (especially after being around middle schoolers). One day in the classroom, my cooperating teacher suggested I try yoga—and it quickly became my sanctuary. What began as a way to manage stress and stay active has since evolved into a lifelong practice of self-discovery, balance, and inner peace.

I first started practicing yoga consistently at a local rec center right after I graduated from college. I enjoyed exploring the different postures, growing my strength and balance, and just having a designated time where I could set my world aside for an hour. But as I practiced year after year, once a week wasn’t enough for me, and I started craving a deeper connection. That craving led me to teacher training, where my understanding of yoga expanded beyond the physical and into something much more meaningful—an ongoing journey of self-awareness, growth, and inner peace.

Wife • Mom • Lover of all things yoga. With over 20 years of dedicated practice and a 200-hour yoga certification, I bring a deep respect for the transformative power of yoga to every class I teach. I continue to be amazed by how the body responds to moving meditation—how breath and movement, when linked with intention, can create both strength and ease. Rooted in Ashtanga, my teaching emphasizes structured, breath-driven sequences while offering creative vinyasa and fluid yoga flows that are both grounding and energizing. My classes are designed to help students build resilience, increase body awareness, and find a sense of calm within the rhythm of movement. Whether you are new to yoga or deepening your practice, my goal is to create a supportive space where you can explore, challenge yourself, and connect more fully to your body and breath.
